Stress:A silent Killer but You Can Control:

What is Stress ?

Stress is a normal reaction that comes from our evolutionary past. The so-called “fight or flight” reaction served our ancestors well, but in our times it is triggered too often by emotions, simple problems, and situations that pose no threat. The grinding pace of modern life streams with repeated “stressors” that build up. Our body reacts to the stress as it distracts our minds and affects our health for the worse.We know when we’re “stressed-out,” because it’s a loud and simple message—we’re slowly killing ourselves.

A Silent Killer

Stress Vs Anxiety

What is Stress?

Where stress affects our bodies ?

A healthy heart is a big concern for everyone and stress can be the most dangerous here. It increases our blood pressure, placing an extra strain on the whole of our bodies’ circulatory system.
The risk of heart attack, stroke or blood clots is important to our heart, brain and blood systems. High blood pressure / hypertension is the ‘silent killer,’ but the strain may go unnoticed. However for people who fail to understand that hypertension / high blood pressure are a sign of medical assistance.

How Stress Effect the Human Anatomy

However, stress hits on every part of our bodies and the medical profession is of significant concern. For example, the development of stress hormones, mainly cortisol, could lead to physical harm throughout the body and should be regulated.

How Stress appear as a Wail

This is a critical situation!!!

How Stress Affects Our Health

How Stress Affects the Modern Society?

It may become troublesome to have anxiety, lack of motivation, anger issues, depression, and anti-social behavior. Drugs, alcohol and cigarettes are a bad way to deal with it and they contribute to tension more frequently. The downwards spiral ruins personal relationships and jobs, and physically manifests as illness as long-term stress progresses. High blood pressure, which contributes to heart disease over time, is the most common outcome.

In the analysis reported by the APA, three major factors are currently noted. The presidential election, healthcare, and mass shootings were among these.
By the way according to researches done by health sectors ,Seventy percent of respondents were worried about mass shootings, which raised their stress level. Nearly 70% were worried about healthcare and whether it will be open to them in the future. Young adults were not overwhelmingly concerned with their health issues.

So How We Can overwhelm This ?

The APA has proposed ways for each of us to do better to handle the stress caused by the confusion that is now in our lives. Simple stuff can add up to significant improvements in our wellness and perspective on life.

1)Dream of previous accomplishments.

In the past, you have undoubtedly overcome traumatic situations – and you have lived! Give credit to yourself. Think about the helpfulness you did during the incident and what you may want to do this time differently.

2)Create new capacities

If life is reasonably quiet, try things out of your comfort zone. Taking chances, from meeting a demanding boss to trying a new sport, allows you to build confidence and skills that are useful when life goes off course.

3)Be Thankful to Yourselves

“Some people are more unpredictable than others, so do not beat up if your unpredictability tolerance is less than a friend’s. Remember that the unpleasant situation will take time to be resolved and in the meantime, be careful with you.

4)Seek encouragement from others you have confidence in

.When they’re stressed or concerned, many people isolate themselves. But it is necessary for social support to reach families and friends.

Lets Enjoy a Stress Free Life

I personally write this article to make your aware about this critical circumstance. So I hope that from reading i assure you will be well concerned. Create a list of the suggestions and post them somewhere during the day. Read it regularly to remember what you should do and forget to stay out of sight of those things. Don’t allow yourself to be a stress victim.

Sociology: Can Sociology Belongs to A Branch of Science ?

What is Sociology ?

The core concept of sociology is that the associations within which individuals belong and the social interaction that takes place within those groups predominantly form human nature. The party, not the individual, is the paramount subject of sociology. The sociologist is particularly interested in people ‘s interaction-the ways in which people behave to react and affect each other. Its approach to processes (the approach to science) and its subject matter (human interaction) define sociology. As a scientific analysis of human interaction, it is correctly described.

Brief Intro of Science :

Science is systematic embodiment of knowledge. The foundation of science is reason and proof. A science is “a branch of knowledge or practice that systematically arranges and illustrates the application of general laws to deal with a body of facts or realities.” In their informal order, science integrates facts and ties them together to make rational inferences. Science takes a cognitive framework. By observation , experimentation, assumption etc., empirical expertise is gained. Science has the following qualities, such as objectivity, evaluation, precise estimation, experimentation, precise calculation, sweeping generalisation and interactions between cause and effect.

Sociology as a psychology: Science ?

There is a major debate about the particular essence of sociology. A concern as to whether or not sociology is science? Perhaps the minds of sociologists have long been puzzled. Maybe it was because of this that sociologists were split into two opposing classes. As a result, two contrasting views on the essence of sociology are visible. Sociology is a practice with one category of sociologists and the scientific methodology is adopted and applied by sociology. This opinion is supported by the founding fathers of Sociology, Auguste Comte, Emile Durkheim and others. Others have varying viewpoints and think that sociology is not a science.

Brief Explanation of Sciences
  • As other natural sciences, Auguste Comte claims that certain natural laws also regulate sociology. Sociology is, thus, a science. Others also argue that sociology is as much a science as politics , economics, psychology, etc.

So lets talk about the Proving and conflicting factors of Sociology vs Science

Agreeing Factors of Sociology is Science

(1) Scientific approaches are adopted by sociology:

By following the scientific approach, sociology studies social activities. While it is not possible to experiment with men in a laboratory, the social activity of man is nevertheless subject to empirical study as a natural phenomenon. Scientific approaches are used to quantitatively evaluate social processes as scales of the sociometry schedule, case analysis, interview and questionnaire.

(2) Sociology gives detailed observations:

In the field of sociology, observation is possible even if it does not have a laboratory. Outside the laboratory, accurate observation is also necessary. The laboratory of sociology is the whole social world. Inside a laboratory, Newton did not invent their laws. Sociology makes tribal marriage observational at the time of incidence. And if sociology does not have a laboratory, it also makes precise measurements. Sociology is, thus, a science. Besides experimental studies, science is not the only requirement.

Is Sociology A Science?| Arguments for Sociology is A Science

Conflict Factors of Sociology is Science

(1) Lack of experimentation:

Sociology is not a science, because research is not feasible. Sociology deals with interpersonal interactions that can not be checked in the laboratory. Human interactions can not be seen or measured since they are abstract in nature. We can’t experiment with things that are abstract.

(2) Inefficiency in terms of terminology:

In terms of terminological inefficiency, sociology fails. Sociology has not yet been able to establish a proper scientific collection of concepts. Many words used in sociology are ambiguous and have varying definitions for multiple people. The word caste and class, for instance, has not yet gained a clear definition. Sociology, however, is not scientific.

(3) Lack of precise measurement:

Like natural science, sociology can’t make exact calculations. There are definite weighing criteria, such as k.g. The metric by which objects can be calculated. But we don’t have any other measurement methods in sociology. In comparison to sociology , social interactions that are intangible in nature and can not be calculated are dealt with. Sociology, however, is not scientific.

Sociology is not a science, as the aforementioned statement indicates. But in his book “The Social Order,” the renowned sociologist Robert Bierstedt explicitly describes the essence of sociology in the following way:

So using these circumstances i conclude these points of my discussion

  1. Sociology is a philosophy which is pure and not an applied science.
  2. Sociology is an abstract science, not a science that is real.
  3. Sociology is a philosophy that generalizes and not a science that particularizes.
  4. Sociology is a rational science as well as an analytical one.

I’m interested in talk about this issue as a blogger to address the contradictions between social studies and science. Perhaps this will narrow the ambiguities between them.Thank You

Deforestation and forest degradation

Why we have to be serious in this Situation ?

  • Deforestation and forest degradation are the biggest threats to forests worldwide.
  • Over half of the tropical forests worldwide have been destroyed since the 1960s, and every second, more than one hectare of tropical forests is destroyed or drastically degraded.
  • The degradation and loss of forests threatens the survival of many species, and reduces the ability of forests to provide essential services.
  • Deforestation and forest degradation impact the lives of 1.6 billion people whose livelihoods depend on forests. One billion of them are among the world’s poorest.
  • Nature-based solutions such as forest landscape restoration (FLR) can reverse the effects of deforestation and degradation and regain the ecological, social, climatic and economic benefits of forests.

Why We have to be serious in this disastrous situation?

Vitality of this crisis to be concerned ?

Deforestation and forest degradation are the biggest threats to forests worldwide. Deforestation occurs when forests are converted to non-forest uses, such as agriculture and road construction. Forest degradation occurs when forest ecosystems lose their capacity to provide important goods and services to people and nature.

Buldozers clear the “Sagu Trees” to make way for palm oil plantations. Sagu palm trees are an important food source for some Papuan tribes who live in the forest. Oil palm plantations have resulted in numerous negative impacts on the environment, on indigenous peoples, on people’s livelihoods, on the national economy, and have resulted in the concentration of land in the hands of few companies Photography by Ardiles Rante for Greenpeace

Over half of the tropical fauna and flora worldwide is being ripped, torn apart since 1960s because of the revolution of machinery. As a result of that in every second, more than one hectare of tropical forests is been drastically degraded.

Why we have to protect the mothernature’s precious gift “forests” ?

Biodiversity
Over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity can be found in forests – from pine trees in the boreal North to the rainforests in the tropics. The degradation and loss of forests threaten the survival of many species, and reduce the ability of forests to provide essential services such as clean air and water, healthy soils for agriculture, and climate regulation.

Sustainable livelihoods
Healthy forests support the livelihoods of 1.6 billion people globally, one billion of whom are among the world’s poorest. Deforestation and forest degradation have real and tangible impacts on the lives of these vulnerable communities. Also due to rapid population increasement 52% of land used for food production is constantly impacted by the erosion of healthy soil.

Climate mitigation and adaptation
The world’s forests absorb 2.4 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year, one-third of the annual CO2 released from burning fossil fuels. Forest destruction emits further carbon into the atmosphere, with 4.3–5.5 GtCO2eq/yr generated annually, largely from deforestation and forest degradation. Protecting and restoring this vast carbon sink is essential for mitigating climate change.

Forests are taking indispensable role in climate change adaption process and also act like a agent of food safety net during climate shocks, costal flooding. Improving health of forest ecosystems we have to intoduce sustainable management practices inorder to increase the awareness of humans.

So what we can do to restore the vanquish vegetation? How we can redeem our mistakes ?

Forest landscape restoration (FLR)
Nature-based solutions such as forest landscape restoration (FLR) can help countries reverse the effects of deforestation and degradation and regain the ecological, social, climatic and economic benefits of forests.

FLR brings people together to identify and implement the most appropriate restoration interventions in a landscape. It seeks to accommodate the needs of all land users and multiple land uses.

FLR is not just about planting trees – it can include multiple activities like agroforestry, erosion control and natural forest regeneration.

For this FLR concept has been commenced across the world because this steps have to be taken unless will be driven to our own bane.Countries and other land owners are committing to FLR through the Bonn Challenge – a global effort to restore 150 million hectares of degraded and deforested land by 2020 and 350 million hectares by 2030, launched by IUCN and Germany in 2011. The Bonn Challenge has so far generated pledges from governments and organisations to restore over 156 million hectares.

Humans need to be concerned about every living species as well as floral. If we are selfish and follow our greedy life style , mothernature will give us a payback with heavy consequences.

The World Is Headed for a Food Security Crisis. Here’s How We Can Avert It

The world currently produces more than enough food to feed everyone, yet 815 million people (roughly 11% of the global population) went hungry in 2016, according to the U.N.

By 2050, with the global population expected to reach 9.8 billion, our food supplies will be under far greater stress. Demand will be 60% higher than it is today, but climate change, urbanization, and soil degradation will have shrunk the availability of arable land, according to the World Economic Forum. Add water shortages, pollution, and worsening inequality into the mix and the implications are stark.

Why Food Is Scared ?

What is global food security and why should we be concerned about it?

Food security is a really serious issue facing all of humanity. In essence, it’s about how we feed a growing population at a time of climate change, which is unpredictable and not fully understood. Globally, we are reliant on a very slender thread of genetic diversity. According to the U.N.’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), more than 50% of all human calories come from just three plants: rice, maize, and wheat.

Why Meat consumption is give you bad Consequences ?

Why are meat-rich diets such a big problem?

One of the greatest causes of biodiversity loss and therefore extinction is the conversion of forest and woodland into grazing for cattle. A kilogram of beef is about 30-times more demanding on the environment than a kilogram of plant protein. For a sustainable future, I suspect that quite radical change to our diets is needed. One of the pressures is that developing societies are shifting to a meat-based diet. If the populations of India or China were to adopt the same meat-rich diet as America that would be extremely demanding on global resources.

How the Climate Changes affects the Food Diversity

How vulnerable are our food sources to climate change or disease?

Over thousands of years of agriculture, humans have selected plants for particular characteristics, typically their yield. High yield is important for feeding a growing population but it means that our food crops are very homogenous. Currently, only 12 crops account for 75% of all human calories. If a particular pest or pathogen arises, or a particular vulnerability to changing climates, the entire crop becomes vulnerable because of the lack of genetic variability within it. We’ve seen this happen before. In the 1950s, the global banana supply was largely based on a single variety called the Gros Michel. The Panama Virus wiped it out because there was a lack of variability within the crop. But I’m confident there are solutions if we make the right decisions now. There are about 5,500 different varieties of edible plants, and yet we have found ourselves concentrating on a very narrow selection. Another factor is the balance of vegetable-based diets versus meat-based diets.

Demand of Food Due to Rapid Population and Increased Wastage

“Meatless meats” are gaining traction but there’s also resistance to the idea of eating food grown in test tubes. Is this the future?

There will always be resistance to new technologies. But it’s interesting because they are marketing plant-based burgers not to vegans or vegetarians, but to people who enjoy a beef burger. They are basically saying: try this, this tastes just as good, it’s healthier for you, it’s less expensive and it’s certainly a lot better for the environment. Genetic modification (GM) is another issue where a poor public understanding of the underlying technology has led to an understandable concern. It’s often alleged that GM is not natural. Well, orthodox agriculture is not natural, it’s extremely damaging to the environment and if GM crops can be produced that require less herbicide, or pesticide, or water, then I think we as a society have to understand that there are some benefits involved.

How to Cope with this Major Crisis?

Coronavirus and Domestic Violence: What to Do If You’re Being Abused

The current Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a second global pandemic: an increase in domestic violence.

According to The New York Times, the domestic violence emergency number in Spain reported an 18 percent spike in calls during the first two weeks of the pandemic. China, Italy, and other countries have seen a similar increase, with France reporting a 30 percent surge in domestic violence reports. This is major crisis that we have to face parallely with this pandemic situation.

“It’s a perfect storm of stressors,” says Laura Schwab Reese, PhD, assistant professor in the department of public health at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. “There’s financial stress on many people, the uncertainty of what’s going to happen, normal social interactions are interrupted.”

This is what you need to know about domestic abuse in the age of Covid-19:

Learn to recognize abuse during the pandemic

Domestic abuse can take many forms including verbal insults, physical violence and, often, trying to isolate you from family, co-workers and friends.

As the National Domestic Violence Hotline points out, social distancing gives some abusers an opportunity to take even more control.

Ultimately it’s all about power and control and Covid-19 gives abusers another potential “tool” in their tool box. Before the pandemic, an abuser may have hidden a phone or a credit card, now they may threaten access to hand sanitizer, withhold insurance cards or access to medical care, or purposely deliver misinformation about the virus, says the Hotline.

It’s OK to feel overwhelmed

Let’s face it, almost everyone is feeling more anxiety at this time. There’s a lot of psychological stress, uncertainty about jobs and financial stability, substance and alcohol abuse, in addition to the increase in social isolation, and an interruption in our normal daily interactions.

“It’s OK to be overwhelmed and scared right now,” says Schwab Reese. “That’s something people need to hear. Everyone is scared and panicked and if you’re in a violent relationship, it can be even scarier now when many are stuck at home.”

Many psychiatrists recommended to do medition ,engage with your hobbies to ease your pain.
Stay socially connected

In addition to having information on crisis resources, it’s also important to stay connected with your social network during the pandemic when you may not be able to go to work or do regular errands like shopping or picking up kids, says Schwab Reese.

Again, be aware that staying connected—even virtually—means you could leave crumbs of information for the abuser. “Be mindful about the ways you reach out,” says Schwab Reese. (Here are stories of people who survived and escaped domestic violence.)

Practice self-care

The word self-care may be associated with bubble baths or yoga, says Schwab Reese, but it can be much more than that. Self-care during the era of quarantine and coronavirus could be as simple as stretching your body, “window shopping” for clothes online, or doing a self-massage, she points out.

Also We can make this time so valuable reading books, gathering knowledge from that, gardening, play music ,sing for yourselves likewise we can be productive for ourselves.

THE FUTURE OF FILM – TRENDS AND CHANGE TO WATCH IN NEAR FUTURE

Today, our online habits are transforming the way we consume video content, whether in blockbuster productions or the advertising industry.

Five long years ago, David Lynch lamented the future of filmmaking and voiced his concerns for the big screen, announcing:

“Television is way more interesting than cinema now. It seems like the art-house has gone to cable.”

Online streaming platforms such as Netflix are leading a transformation in film entertainment, while social channels like Instagram are fast evolving to offer more video content than ever.

1. The world loves localised content

Filmmaking Trends in Future.

Looking for something new to watch? You’re in luck. Over the next five years, it’s estimated Netflix and Amazon will spend an annual total of more than $20 billion on original content, while Apple and Facebook are also taking steps to invest in their own projects.

With this, we’re seeing a shift from national broadcasting traditions to extensive distribution across global networks – and our charming British accents are doing us a world of good. UK TV production companies generated record revenues of £2.7 billion in 2017, with much of this attributed to overseas sales of high-end dramas such as Victoria and Sherlock.

2. Audiences engage with emotional filmmaking trends

Filmmaking – whether it’s working to direct something wondrous through a lens or produce someone else’s masterpiece – is a truly emotional process.

As you’ll have likely seen during the latest season of Christmas adverts, creating emotive content is increasingly seen as one of the best (and most profitable) ways to endear brands to consumers. When it comes to the future of filmmaking for commercial purposes, expect to see brands team up with documentary makers to transform their storytelling potential.

Filmmaking trends are increasingly leaning towards engaging concepts – just consider Bandersnatch, the fascinating new interactive film by Netflix, which allows viewers to choose between multiple endings. Increasingly, viewers want to feel a part of the action.

As a result, many producers are looking into making more engaging and intimate video content, many going beyond the confines of professional film studios to do so. By working with a documentary maker rather than scripted advertising, its possible to get to the true heart of the matter – and to make content you actually want to watch.

3. The future of filmmaking goes virtual

Virtual reality (VR) is still very much an emerging filmmaking trend, but in 2019 it is expected to grow exponentially. According to Statista, the global economic impact of virtual and augmented reality is predicted to reach $29.5 billion by 2020.

Projected within the safe confines of a headset, these virtual environments offer limitless potential, and practically any industry can create content to connect with consumers. The technology can entertain, instruct and educate audiences in a whole new way.

British reputed film maker BAFTA-winning Martin Percy isn’t shy about using new kit, and has been especially proficient with VR filming, as seen in his campaigns which range in subject from safaris to fire safety. Thanks to the latest production technologies, Martin is able to make the imaginary a reality, all within a safe environment.

“With VR, we’re not trying to make a film which people are watching on a VR headset,” he explains. “We’re trying to give people a sense that they are, in some magical way, actually present in some fascinating or exciting location.”

This VR 360 virtual reality concept serves to safely immerse viewers in an otherwise life-threatening situation using visual and auditory cues, and to promote the security of ADT safety products.
